The Ansar Al-Marjaiya Brigade

The Liwa Ansar al-Marjaiyah (Ansar Al-Marjaiya Brigade) is a Shi'a military unit part of the Popular Mobilization Forces in al-Muthanna province in the south of the country, under the leadership of its own sheikh as Shi'a religious authority (marja'iyya) in that area. The group claims to be active since (at least) 2014.

The logo is a brown silhouette of an Ak-47 superimposed over two crossed Zulfiqar swords in green and above them the Iraq flag, surrounded by two local floral and fauna (on each side) with the inscription "النصر او الشهادة" (Victory or martyrdom) on top and "لواء أنصار المرجعية" (Ansar Al-Marjaiya Brigade) on bottom.
